No luck. Rebooting or even just navigating around in Explorer simply resets back to no headings. Win 7 just recreates those registry entries.

I wonder why MS hasn't fixed this.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Cloud Strider,

I did try this command and it works... temporarily.  When I navigate to different folders the heading disappear again, even when I return to the orignal folder.

Thanks

I would suggest you try the steps that I am outlining for you below. Seeing as the registry fixes are not working for you hopefully MS FIXIT will find and resolve what is causing the KEYS to revert back on you.

Step 1. Select a problem area? Choose Windows

Step 2. What are you trying to do? Choose Use Desktop features, or Open programs and files

Step 3. View or run solutions for Find files, folders or programs? Choose Diagnose and repair Windows File and Folder Problems automatically

Step 4. Save or Run the download

Step 5. Click YES for User Access Control permission & Accept Terms of use of the program

Step 6. Select: DETECT PROBLEMS AND APPLY FIX FOR ME (RECOMMENDED)

Step 7. In the dialog box: WHAT PROBLEM ARE YOU EXPERIENCING select
        - Icon and Folder customization
        - Others and I don't know

Step 8. FIXIT will find issues with Recycling box and Registry...just apply the fix

Step 9. RESTART your computer

Please re-post with the results of this step.

This is the solution that fixed the headers for me.

However, I could get thru to the fix using your steps, only with a direct link:
