It's working for me. I did a clean install from the full installer.

 

Just download the full installer, use DDU to uninstall the previous driver. Make sure it changes the setting that prevents Windows from automatically downloading display drivers. Once uninstalled, reboot and do a clean install using the full installer.

HP issued a new BIOS update - see https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Window-10-Creator-incompatible-....  After the Bios update, there were no more problems with windows  updates ... so far!  Thanks to Regan2510.
