I have a laptop model 14-dq11004la and I would like to install the Windows 10 May 2020 Update on it using the Media Creation Tool. Are there any known incompatibilities that could cause problems?

You would do better to WAIT a while -- as MS recently issued a notice of the TOP TEN issues with this Update -- issues that they NOW admit to and have yet to solve, including a nasty one with Bluetooth.
Also, there are some limits that MS has put in place due to these issues, and your best bet is to use Window Update (even though I NEVER recommend that) as it will check for known hardware issue and refuse to download if it finds any.
And, as always, be sure to make an Image Backup of your current install BEFORE you attempt the update, so you have something to restore FROM if the update goes badly.
UPDATE: Here is the link to the MS thread where they talk about these issues: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004
