Hello
[This is an automatic response

Some indications can be changed, and some may not be useful to you, I can not always adapt the answer!]

the official version of windows 11 at the time of writing this answer has not yet been released, unless I'm mistaken!
Don't rush, any new version has these problems, wait at least a little bit before you start
Check everywhere if there are problems after installation or not!
For tpm 2.0, there are many sites that are starting to talk about it.
You can start by checking the general compatibility with the microsoft tool

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11
https://aka.ms/GetPCHealthCheckApp
another tool given by the expert @WAWood gives more information (thanks to him for this find
https://github.com/rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11/releases

for TPM 2.0 to be activated with bios uefi, if it is possible
"In the search box or with the Windows + R key combination, we type tpm.msc."

look at the bottom, where the TPM version is shown. If we see version 2.0, our computer should be compatible with Windows 11 in this section.

hi
I read that it would be more or less possible to add a module, but nothing concrete, nothing found for the moment
The security module, being generally integrated into the processor, there is no way to change this for many computers, incompatible processors!

https://www.pcmag.com/news/what-is-a-tpm-and-why-do-i-need-one-for-windows-11
The requirements for windows 11 may change, in the meantime avoid spending unnecessary money.

I don't know if we can find it in English
There is something new, still a little confused, but it seems, that the requirements are still changed
There would still be certain conditions, not too uninteresting in the end if it stays like that!
The link is translated here, I don't know if it will be clear, but in the main line it should be understandable!

if you click on specifications, a microsoft page appears

Prepare yourselves

Windows 11 isn't here yet, but will be available later this year. If you are looking forward to it, you can already do some preparations.

This PC will run Windows 11

Your PC meets the minimum hardware requirements and is eligible for a free upgrade when deploying the new Windows.

the processor here is it seems incompatible
you will certainly not be able to install a compatible one
You would have to use the option to override as explained above.
with all the inconveniences that this entails, possible problems etc.
The best is to abstain

@-Wuffa-

You need to know EVERYTHING that your system lacks for Windows 11, not just TPM or what the MS tool tells you.

Here is a link to a third-party tool that will check all the currently known requirements for Windows 11 and tell you what fails on your PC: https://github.com/rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11/releases

Look down the page below the illustration of the reports at the Assets section. Links to the downloads are shown thers.

Thanks WAWood

The computer in question is an HP Spectre 13 which, I was suprised to note, is over 5 years old. Having only USB type 3 ports and none other, I imagined it to be "future proofed". How wrong one can be with MS around.

Running MS's PC Health Check, it indicated a pass with flying colours - except for the Intel Core i7-6500U processor, condemned as "not currently supported".

Taking your advice about running WhyNotWin11 gave the same result - all passes, except for the CPU, rated as not supported.

Maybe there's slim chance that the CPU will be supported, but I'm not too hopeful. The machine will just have to see out it's useful life with W10.

Thanks for your help.

As you say, abstinence is best!  Thanks.

@-Wuffa-

Lots and lots of folks are complaining bitterly about the CPU requirements for WIn11 -- but to date, MS is not budging on their requirements.  So, I would not hold out hope for this.

continue to run Win10 until EOL which is mid-October 2025, about 4 years from now; then consider buying a new HP laptop that has Win11 pre-installed (maybe with either the 1st or 2nd feature update for W11) by that time.

Win11 will never officially support anything less than 8th gen Intel (aka. core i7-8xxx) or AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 2xxx) CPUs

Hi,

My system passed all other criteria except processor 3205U which is 'not yet supported' by Microsoft.

Did you find any solution yet?

HP Recommended

@Kris2498

There is no "solution"!  MS is not relenting on their imposed CPU requirements -- so there is nothing you can do to "fix" that.

While there are "hacks" you can run to FORCE Win11 onto incompatible hardware, this is NOT advised -- as MS may relent any day and force a Windows Update onto those PCs that will disable them all.
