Windows 11 update version 24H2 is failing to install on my laptop. The laptop has Snapdragon 7c Gen2@ 2.55 GHz processor. I am getting error code: Install error - 0xc1900208.
I've previously had an online troubleshooting session with a Microsoft specialist, but the problem could not be solved, and I was advised to simply ignore the update for now and wait for a new update to be available and see if that installs. But I don't want to ignore the present update, mainly because it may also contain security updates.
So, I am looking for a solution to successfully install the update.

Hi @luit,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
This error typically means incompatible software or hardware is blocking the update. In your case:
- Your laptop has a Snapdragon 7c Gen2 ARM processor, which is not currently supported for Windows 11 24H2.
- According to HP’s official documentation, HP 14-ed0000 is not listed among the devices tested or supported for the 24H2 update
What You Can Do:
1. Confirm Compatibility
- Check if your device is listed here:
🔗 HP Business PCs and Workstations tested with Windows 11 | HP® Support
If your model is not listed, HP does not support this update on your device yet.
2. Check for Blockers
- Run the Windows PC Health Check Tool to confirm compatibility.
- Use SetupDiag from Microsoft to analyze the update failure: 🔗 Download SetupDiag
3. Update Drivers and BIOS
- Visit your model’s driver page and install the latest updates: 🔗 HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-ed0000 (4R1B0AV) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
4. Temporarily Remove Third-Party Software
- Uninstall any third-party antivirus, VPNs, or system utilities.
- Restart and try the update again.
5. Use Windows 11 Installation Assistant (Optional)
- If you're determined to try the update manually (not recommended if unsupported), use: 🔗 HP PCs - Where do I find Windows 11 drivers and software for my model? | HP® Support
⚠️ Warning: Forcing the update on unsupported hardware may cause instability or loss of functionality.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thank you for your reply. As you have explained, ARM processor does not support Windows 11 24H2 update. So, what are my options now? Will future updates be compatible? If not, how do I protect my laptop from viruses and malware? How will HP support me to ensure my laptop remains up-to-date and protected?
