Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have two of these machines identical the hard drive crashed on one and I replaced it with a new one I created recovery discs from the one that did not crash and when I go through the recovery options it fails to read disc 3. How do I get past this point?

Hi

Dunno.

I would try a clean install with Windows 7;

Hi, @derek514w

There isn't anyone that I know of that would be able to help you with the specific issue you are having with the recovery media.

I agree with  Lil_Boy_Blue's suggestion to clean install W7 if you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 product key.

The utility that he posted is normally out of commission for W7.

I just ran the Heidoc tool which I keep saved on my hard drive, and neither the retail or OEM W7 Home Premium 64 bit files are currently available.

So...you can download the W7 Home Premium 64 bit retail ISO file from the link below...toward the bottom of the page.

https://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/windows-7-home-premium-free-download-iso-32-bit-64...

Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below, that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive, so that it is bootable.

After W7 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv4-2000-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-seri...

Since the ISO file is a retail file, and the product key on your notebook's case is OEM, you may have to use Microsoft's automated phone activation system to activate Windows.

You're very welcome.

Hi

Paul is not the first person to tell me that the Heidoc Link(s) I post are not valid, but still I post them.

Maybe it is just the UK that is valid, or that the US of A has blocked the download.

Anyway the attachment shows a download, dated this very day.

Maybe I need a re-think?

Hi, @Lil_Boy_Blue

You are 100% correct.

I was selecting the first button, but the second one of August 2018, allows you to download the W7 English version only.

The first button is where I get the error.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

At least it will work for those forum members that need the English version of the W7 ISO files.
