I recently came across this when I restarted my desktop "Your license will expire soon". Not knowing what this meant, as i bought this computer with Windows 10 already pre-installed. I spoke with Microsoft about this, and the person that I spoke to informed me that the product key that came pre-installed was a generic key and I would need to contact HP to have them give me a different product key for Windows 10 Activation.

HP told me to contact Microsoft. Microsoft told me to contact HP. So I am stuck at whose fault it is. It is not my fault! I bought this computer new with Windows 10 PRE-INSTALLED on it. So someone better cough up a product key for Windows 10 because I know I am not going to.

You might be installed a third party application named "KMS pico" to activate office product this may be creating this issue.
Solution:
- Reset your notebook
- Go to settings>>Update & security>>reset this PC>>Keep personal files
- Once the procedure completes try to activate windows again.
[Note: This application completely damage the windows activation services, so uninstalling the program may not help you anymore.]

I get this message that popped up. I did not upgrade to Windows 10. I did the update to Windows 10 Fall whatever update. Windows 10 came PRE-INSTALLED. So I don't want to do anything until I speak to my assigned HP Care Provider first. Because this is the screen that came up when I tried to do what you had told me to do.

Hi,
In this case, upgrade means you updated from windows 10 (1703) to windows (1709) windows considering version 1703 as the previous version of windows. I think you should contact HP to get genuine windows 10 key.

This is what I have been trying to do since Wednesday when I contacted Microsoft. Microsoft said it was HP's problem, so I contacted HP. HP said it was Microsofts' problem. So I am just the jacka$$ is the middle who does not have a licensed copy of Windows 10 becuase someone doesn't know whose fault it is. All I know is that I bought the All-in-One Desktop PRE-INSTALLED with Windows 10 on it so it is not my fault, and I am not going to pay for it.
