Hello, @thepurohits – Greetings!

Thank you for joining HP Support Forums. I would be glad to be of your assistance 🙂

I understand you are having trouble while performing a recovery. To assist you better, I need to know the following details:

  1. What is the issue on the computer for which you are attempting to perform a recovery?
  2. Have you tried a system recovery from F11?
  3. Was this recovery disc created by you or was it shipped from HP?
  4. If the discs are from HP, did you receive any supplementary discs from HP?
  5. How many discs have you received in total?
  6. Once the 4 discs are installed do you get an error message, or does it sit on a blank screen or what exactly happens?

Alternatively, if you have not tried recovery from F11 menu, then please try the steps here: http://hp.care/2c7wZSQ

Expand “Performing system recovery on notebook PCs 2014 and newer (White background)” and follow the steps under “Recovery when Windows 8 does not start correctly”.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance please reply with the details requested.

Thanks & have a great day 🙂
