I need to find a Windows 10 (64bit) Recovery USB for a HP Pavilion Notebook - 17z-f100 CTO PN J7V87AV SN [removed]. There is not one listed in the support Software download page. Any ideas?

Hi, @rodshafer56
The reason there is no W10 recovery media available for your PC's model series is because it came with W8.1.
So, you have two options...purchase the W8.1 recovery media from HP at the link below...then after you install W8.1, click on the blue Update Now button to reinstall W10, at the second link I posted.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Or you can just go right to reinstalling W10 for free as follows...
You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, if your PC is not working.
If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.
Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer...
- Select Download tool now, and select Run.
- If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.
- On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.
Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10. You want 64 bit.
- Select which media you want to use:
- USB flash drive. Plug in a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.
You can also save the W10 ISO file instead of making the bootable USB flash drive installer, and burn it to a DVD using the tool I zipped up and attached below if you would rather use a DVD to reinstall W10.
Then you can reinstall the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.

If your PC came with Win10 preinstalled, you can purchase one from HP using this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143
Good Luck
