Why is Windows Update stuck on checking for updates?

Then reboot and try the updates again.

You may need to install it first.

It works, but downloading updates is stuck at 0%

Do you have Automatic up-dates enabled???

 

Try shutting down the computer and see if it wants to install updates.

 

If it does then you may have a conflict with Automatic up-dates and manual up-dates running at the same time.

 

Set Automatic up-dates to NEVER.
