Cannot open windows at startup

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP notebook is not opening Windows properly at startup, please try the steps below:
 

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn OFF the notebook 
  • Disconnect the charger and all USB/external devices 
  • Hold the Power button for 15 seconds 
  • Reconnect the charger and turn it ON


2. Run Startup Repair

  • Turn ON the PC and tap F11 repeatedly 
  • Go to:
    Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Repair 
  • Follow the on-screen steps


3. Boot into Safe Mode

  • Open Recovery using F11 
  • Go to:
    Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings → Restart 
  • Press 4 for Safe Mode 

If Windows opens, remove recent apps/updates or update drivers.

4. Run HP Extensive Hardware Test

  1. Turn the PC OFF 
  2. Turn it ON and tap Esc repeatedly 
  3. Press F2 for Diagnostics 
  4. Go to:
    System Tests → Extensive Test 

Please share the test results once completed.
