Hi @AlvinET
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The error code 0xc1900207 typically indicates that another update process is blocking the current update. Before resorting to a reset, you can try these additional steps:
Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Select "Windows Update" and click "Run."
Check for Pending Restarts:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and see if there's a prompt to restart your device.
Disk Cleanup:
- Use the Disk Cleanup utility to remove temporary files and system files that might be causing conflicts.
Manually Install the Update:
- Download the update manually: HP PCs - Updating drivers using Windows Update (Windows 11, 10) | HP® Support

Thanks Hawks_Eye ... I had tried the first three of your suggestions on my own prior to your response, all to no avail. Also tried some scripts for manually stopping and restarting processes from the command line, also to no avail. I finally gave up and did a reset ... that solved the problem, but now having to recover from that. (I mistakenly thought that choosing the 'save my files' would save everything, but definitely not the case!) Thanks anyway!

Hi @AlvinET
My sincere apologies for the experience with the Windows update and recovery process.
It's unfortunate that the "save my files" option didn't meet your expectations—recovering from a reset can definitely be tedious.
Hopefully, your system is running smoothly now! 😊
If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. We're here to help!
Thanks again for your confirmation, and we wish you an amazing day ahead! 😊
Regards,
Hawks_Eye
