Hi,

I just updated my computer to the feature update windows 10 version 2004 and ever since then when I click on my external hard drive that is mapped in my network settings it says that windows cannot access it. How can I fix this?

Also, I now have two microsoft edge shortcut icons on my desktop after it restarted,  why is that?

And, when the computer turned on after the update my desktop setting was all black and then about a half hour later it returned to the picture I had. What could have caused that?

Did updating my computer to windows 10 version 2004 damage anything? Is anyone else experiencing problems?

  • 1. For External HDD: How did you connect it ?  It should come up as normal my NAS came up without any glitch. Now, Do you use USB ? Just connect it to a different port or use another computer to assign it as a fix drive letter.
  • 2. Edge is new web browser, it should be there from Windows 10 few years back but this time Microsoft wanted users to use more. You can ignore it.
  • 3. For a big upgrade, depending on the speed of your computer and your account settings, screen will go black for a while, it had to pull down your Microsoft account profile to update your machine.
  • 4. I  upgraded 6 machines 2 weeks ago, so far so good, only one machine which is an HP Omen, the fans spin faster during Start up.

Regards.
