Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The computer is an HP ZBook 15 G3,  Windows 10 64 bit,  which had a new hard drive installed and the OS reimaged and set back up.  The Thunderbolt 3 bar dock was working before,  but now it's not.   We have already tried installing  the drivers  to which the HP Support site is directing me,  such as  sp96414,  but the installation wizard stops at a view where it says   "Please attach the computer to the docking station to proceed."


I can unplug and replug the dock,   or try starting the installation without the dock plugged in and then plug in when prompted,   and nothing works.   The installation process never recognizes that it is plugged in,   even though you hear the Windows sound that something was plugged in.   It clearly knows that I plugged something in.   It is charging the laptop through the dock.   I can plug in an external monitor to the dock via the USB-C/thunderbolt port  and that one monitor will recognize and work.   

 

However,  none of the Display Ports,   the VGA port,  nor the USB 2.0/3.0  ports will work.   And the driver software won't advance past the part where it's asking me to plug in the dock.    IT IS!
How do I fix this?    Thank you in advance.

UPDATE:  I have been able to get the thunderbolt dock installation to proceed after tinkering around with a suggestion that I found in another thread.   I had to restart and enter system diagnostics > BIOS > Advanced > Port Settings  and disable the security on the  PCIe and Display Port.   Once I did this and allowed Windows to start up,  then the driver installation  sp96414.exe  would recognize the Thunderbolt 3 dock and work successfully.   It installed and now my Display Ports and USB Ports on the dock are working again.

 

To try and roll back this setting,  I re-entered BIOS settings and turned back ON the  PCIe and Display Port - Secure Connection option,   but then the bar dock was again no longer recognized.   I  also tried PCIe and Display Port - User Authorization,  but that didn't allow the dock to work either.   I ultimately rolled it back to No Security and am hoping there are no issues from this.

If there is an update where I can re-enable the security while still having my Thunderbolt dock working,  please advise.  Thanks
