@Janetehillga, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're getting a message saying "Contact your administrator" when trying to access the Control Panel on your HP Pavilion Plus running Windows 11, it usually means your user account doesn't have the necessary administrative privileges. Here are a few steps you can try:

Check if You're Using a Standard Account

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to Accounts > Your Info.
  3. Look under your name — if it says Standard User, you won’t be able to access certain settings.

If that's the case, you'll need someone with an Administrator account to either:

  • Log in and change your account type to Administrator.
  • Grant you access to the Control Panel.

Try Running Control Panel as Administrator

  1. Press Windows + S and type Control Panel.
  2. Right-click on Control Panel and select Run as administrator.

If you're prompted for an admin password and don't have it, you'll need to contact the person who set up the PC or your IT administrator.

Use Command Prompt to Access Control Panel

If you suspect it's a glitch:

  1. Press Windows + X and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Type: control
    and press Enter.

This should open the Control Panel if your account has the right permissions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
