Hi @Debapriya,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Windows key stopped working after a recent update. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this and get it working again.

Check if the Windows key is disabled by shortcut
Press Fn + Windows key on the keyboard.
Some keyboards have a Win-Lock feature that disables the Windows key.

Test with the on-screen keyboard
Press Windows + R, type osk, and press Enter.
Click the Windows key on the on-screen keyboard to see if the Start menu opens.

Restart Windows Explorer
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
Right-click Windows Explorer and select Restart.

Check for gaming or keyboard software
Open Settings > Apps and look for keyboard, gaming, or macro software.
Disable or uninstall any app that may block the Windows key after updates.

Turn off Filter Keys
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
Make sure Filter Keys is turned off, as it can block certain keys.

Check keyboard driver status
Open Device Manager and expand Keyboards.
Uninstall the keyboard device and restart the computer to reload the driver.

Install pending Windows updates
Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any remaining updates.
Some updates require follow-up patches to restore full functionality.

Test with another keyboard
Connect a different keyboard and test the Windows key.
This helps confirm whether the issue is software- or hardware-related.

I hope this helps.
