after update, hpl laptop windows 10 won't charge when om

Thought a windows update would actually help my laptop.
after an update, battery won't charge unless computer is In sleep mode.

that's why I bought a different charger.
it was not an hp brand, only worked for a few days.

so now hp brand charger that came with laptop & the one I bought recently won't charge the laptop until is in sleep mode. My job requires I use my laptop 7 hrs a day at a time.

when laptop is on and I plug charger in, it has a white light.

orange light when charger plugged in and it does charge IN SLEEP MODE.

followed guides. can;'t update Bios, requires charger to be "detected" when its plugged in.

went to device manager under Battery, uninstalled both drivers.

Try performing a system restore.

Whenever you want to return to a Restore Point, open the System Properties dialog box, click the System Protection tab and then click the System Restore… button. Follow the on-screen instructions and select the desired Restore Point when prompted. You can also click the Scan for affected programs button before going any further, to see what might change on your PC afterwards. When you’re happy to proceed, click Next.
