Ubuntu LTS

Help! i have recently decided Ubuntu 22.04 was NOT the choice for me,  After trying to reinstall windows i was stuck, due to me completely deleting windows i have no way to extract the Intel rapid storage technology (which is the needed driver to detect the ssd) leaving me unable to reinstall the OS. Are there any work arounds anyone may suppose?

Things ive tried:

*installing intel rapid storage technology and failing to extract it due to the file being random numbers such as (436752.exe) instead of zip or so on

*Tried to install directly from a smaller partition of the disk itself

*Installing ubuntu unzipping apps, ext...

If your notebook has an Intel 11th Gen Core or newer processor, and if W11 can't find any drives while installing, I zipped up and attached the Intel storage controller drivers below so Windows can find the drive.

Copy all of the files in both folders in the attached file to a USB flash drive.

Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the W11 installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next and if those are the right drivers Windows should find the drive and install.

when using the drivers provided another load driver error poos up saying, “No new device drivers were found” and saying i need to make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers, from what I can recall i have an intel i7 11th gen processor and intel iris xe graphics if that may help with the solution

Those drivers should have worked, so I don't know what the problem could be.

I have one other idea you can try but I need to know the full model number or product number of your notebook.

Use this guide to find that information:

2K4A9UA#ABA is the product number

OK, see if this works:

Use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive to reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.  This will have the necessary storage controller drivers included in the image.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.   You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

You can download the tool from the Microsoft store:

HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Microsoft Apps

Since you have to use the tool on another PC when you run it, you will have to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.

Your notebook's product number is 2K4A9UA#ABA

As of this moment, i do not have any access to another computer with windows, nor the Microsoft store. but i do have a USB drive up to the specs you listed above
