I have a HP Pavillion g6 - 2219sa Notebook PC. On starting up today I got a message on a black screen that the fan was not working properly & to continue using could cause severe damage. Before I could finish reading the message fully it shut down the lap top. I have restarted the lap top & it seems to be working normally & the message has not reappeared so I do not know what the rest of message advised. Is it safe for me to carry on using the appliance? I would assume as the message has not reappeared the fan has recovered & safe to use but I am not sure. At present I am using my wife's lap top as I do not want to use mine if it is going to damage it. The fan on this PC has always been noisy at times but never had this message before. Any advice appreciated.The lap top is about 5 years old & has been working fine until now.

@geoffviking Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are facing a cooling fan issue.
In that case, I would suggets you conatct our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.
Or you can conatct the local service center for repair.
Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
