Attempting to down load W-10. Process appeared to be normal. Display is now showing DOS script and will not change and unable to shut notebook down or off. Not an accomplished user and do not want to complicate the issue.

WAWood;
The notebook has completed the W-10 download and install appears to be working as advertised.
The problem with 1st attempt will be chalked up to Gremlins.
I thank you for your speedy response.

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
I read your post about problems with the Win10 Upgrade and wanted to help -- but need more information.
So, what state is your laptop in at present? Is it still running Win7?
Did the Upgrade stop and leave your PC in the current state? If so, how far did you get through the Upgrade?
What do you want to be the end state: (1) return the PC to running Win7, (2) upgrade the PC to running Win10?
We can proceed once you provide the information.
Thanks

WAWOOD;
Thank you for your reply.
I just went to write down the DOS display to send to you. The Note Book has reset itself and appears to be functioning normally. It had shut itshelf down; I restarted and it came up in W-7 starter as it normally does. I checked several programs and email accounts and they came up as before.
It is now downloading W-10 again and I will let it proceed and see what happens.
This bug started as this for info. I downloaded W-10 after reading the info for performing the procedure. I have previously down loaded it for my Desktop with no problems. It appeared to download normal and started to load it. The proceedure apppeared to go normal and completed. I clicked on the icon to proceed and it went to what appeared to be a normal DOS window with several lines of script and a cursor and appeared to be waiting for a command.
I will let it proceed and provide the outcome.
Ben
