HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb086ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb086ng with windows 10 and I'm trying to install ubuntu 18.04 beside windows and I couldn't untill now. The only way to do it is erase the hard disk totally first and maybe change the partition type (GPT,MBR). my question is: will I lose the recovery option if I want to make recovery in future, since I have a recovery USB-stick from HP?

Hi @raghed_r

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

If you have an HP recovery media, you dont' need recovery partition on the HDD/SSD - the USB pendrive can be used to restore the PC to factory default condition.

If the HP recovery media fails, there is also a workaround - performing clean Windows 10 installation and then installing drivers/apps manually. This is easy with Windows 10 >> https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Impossible-to-update-operating-...
