HP Spectre x360 13-w0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am about to sell my HP Spectre x360 13-w0xx laptop. I tried to do a factory reset, choosing to wipe all my files, and choosing a cloud download. After a few seconds, I get a message saying the it can't download the files and to do a local reset. I'd love to, but I don't know where the recovery media is. Can't make a new one, because you're only allowed to make 1. I have searched for it, but I've moved twice since 2017 and you know how things get lost in a move...

What are my options?

Hi:

Is this the cloud recovery you are referring to?

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7) | HP® Customer Support

You use this to create a bootable USB recovery drive that you boot from that will reinstall W10 the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

If yes, your only other option would be to clean install W10 by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool and then installing the drivers and software from the support page.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

Hi, Paul.

Actually, not too long after I posted this, I went in via a different method and was able to do the reset. It finished about 30 minutes ago and the intro to set up started, so the machine is now ready to go to the new user.

Thanks very much for responding.
