Welcome to the HP Community --

Unfortunately --

Your first statement describes the situation --

Job setup does NOT "scan some content > save that content > scan more content > save that group"

If you scan a large job -- or any job that the printer, the network, or your device (computer) resources cannot handle

and

If one of those connections were to fail, break, or "glitch",

then

The job (all the content) is lost.

In general, the resources mentioned -- printer, network, device -- are limited.

For example,

  • The printer might not include enough onboard memory to store large amounts of active content
  • The network might be busy, might be forced to use Wireless, might suffer from other issues
  • The device might be busy, might lack enough onboard resource to manage the job

Possibly related

  • The tools you are using -- for example, the application or software -- might be better adapted than another for large or complex job management.
