Hi, Joe:

The problem you may be facing is that Windows does not include the Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers needed for Windows to find the drive in Intel PCs with Intel 11th > 13th generation Core processors.

See if loading the Intel storage controller drivers that I zipped up and attached below works when you are at the screen where Windows cannot find any drives.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible drivers, or you can leave the box unchecked and try all of them until you find the one that works.

Hi Paul

Thanks for your reply,   I have Dell and Lenovo Gen11 notebook which upgrade to Win11 via fresh install without that problem.........  As they can select VMD / AHCI in BIOS

some HP notebook can disable the VMD in BIOS as well

But mine HPs14 without any option to disable the VMD..... I have updated the BIOS to latest version already.........

Yes... I can using the VMD driver from HP to install win11, but it is not a good solution.........

If I resell it later, I have to supply the tailor made install media to buyer to avoid complaint / trouble...

I don't know why HP can't add a option in BIOS to disable the VMD..........

Thanks for your help!!

Best Regards,
Joseph

You're very welcome, Joseph.

The HP consumer class notebooks like the 14-dr2002tu would not have those advanced settings.

The BIOS' only have basic settings that most users only need.

That is why you may find those settings in HP business class notebooks, which may need those settings for mor advanced users.

Is the notebook supported by the HP cloud recovery tool?

If it came with Windows from the factory it should be.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility:

HP consumenten-pc's - Het hulpprogramma HP Cloud Recovery gebruiken in Windows 11 en 10 | HP® onders...

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store

HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store

Sell the notebook and give the person a 32 GB recovery drive that you make or you can tell the buyer to make one at their earliest convenience.

Cheers,

Paul
