Hi  @Kenetoy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about Cloud recovery issue , don’t worry let me help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Which HP laptop model are you using?
  • What version of Windows is currently installed?
  • Did the error appear immediately after launching the tool, or only when you tried to sign in/download recovery media?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try in the meantime:

  1. Uninstall and reinstall the tool – Sometimes remnants of an older version can cause authentication issues.
  2. Run as Administrator – Right‑click the HP Cloud Recovery Tool and choose Run as administrator.
  3. Check system date and time – If your system clock is off, authentication certificates may appear invalid.
  4. Clear cached credentials – In Windows Credential Manager, remove any stored HP entries that might be conflicting.
  5. Try a different network – Occasionally, firewall or proxy settings can block the tool from validating properly.

If none of these steps resolve it, I’d like to confirm whether you downloaded the tool from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page or the Microsoft Store. Using HP’s direct download is usually more reliable.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Kenetoy,

Thanks for your response.

In the meantime, one workaround is to download the latest version directly from HP’s official support website https://support.hp.com/ rather than relying on the Microsoft Store. This often resolves the expired authentication problem.

If you’ve already tried that and are still running into trouble,  Have you had a chance to try the updated guidance provided on HP’s support site? Here’s the link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4511095-4511141-16  It walks through the latest steps and provides direct download options outside of the Microsoft Store, which may help .

I hope this helps.

Both the links download section point to Microsoft Store. No direct link!

Hi @Kenetoy

Could you let me know if you were able to try the guidance from HP’s support document link that was shared earlier? Sometimes clearing cached credentials or running the tool as administrator helps temporarily, but I’d like to confirm if those steps made any difference for you.

Is everything working fine now on your laptop, or are you still stuck at the same error screen?
