hp notebook 15-ac021tx won't turn on

My HP notebook 15-ac021tx won't turn on. I plug the power cord into the computer and the little light right beside where it plugs in lights up white which means that it is plugged in and recieving power but when I press the power button nothing happens. I have tried removing the battery and power cord and then holding the power button for a minute and then putting the battery/power cord back in but this did not work.
