Hi @AndreaSuarez,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing a range of issues with your HP Pavilion - 15z laptop, including system hangs, protection fault errors at boot, crashes during Zoom meetings, and game crashes. The fact that you've tried removing one memory module at a time without resolving the issue suggests that there might be a problem with the memory modules themselves or with the memory controller on the motherboard.

Since you mentioned wanting to change memory timings in the BIOS but couldn't find the option, here are a few suggestions:

  • Update BIOS/UEFI: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS/UEFI is up to date. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates that address stability issues. You can check the HP support website for your specific model and download the latest BIOS/UEFI firmware.
  • Advanced BIOS Settings: Some laptops have hidden or advanced BIOS settings that can be unlocked by pressing a specific key combination during boot (e.g., Esc, F2, F10, or Del). Explore the BIOS thoroughly to see if there's an option to unlock advanced settings.
  • Memory Testing: Run a memory diagnostic tool to check for any issues with your RAM modules. Windows has a built-in tool called Windows Memory Diagnostic. You can access it by typing "Windows Memory Diagnostic" in the start menu and following the on-screen instructions.
  • Reset BIOS to Defaults: In case you made any changes that might be causing instability, reset the BIOS settings to default. This option is usually available in the BIOS/UEFI menu.

Remember that changing memory timings carries some risk, and it's not always a recommended solution unless you are certain about the compatibility and stability of the changes you're making.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
