Since you were unable to provide the info I needed, I can only guess what drivers you need...

Try these...

This package contains the software that enables the HP Quick Launch Buttons, which are special function keys on HP Notebooks. This software works with supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp46501-47000/sp46731.exe

This package provides HP 3D DriveGuard for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems. HP 3D DriveGuard receives notifications from the integrated accelerometer and protects the hard drive (HDD) by automatically "parking the heads" to reduce the risk of damage if the notebook/laptop is accidentally dropped or is abruptly impacted by another object.

Hi, @RBJW123

Your model predates the Intel Management Technology hardware.

You need the TI Card reader driver...

This package contains the driver for the Texas Instruments PCI (TI-PCI) Cardbus (Media Card Reader) for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.

that driver cleared the pci simple communications controller. however there wre two unknown drivers under it which did not clear. they are now listed under other devices as an unknown device.

properties state unknown location on microsoft ACPI-COMPLIANT System for one.

the other is unknown location on PCI bus.

thanks for the help

You're very welcome.

You probably need the W7 quick launch buttons and 3D driveguard drivers, but I want to know for sure, because I have to get them from a slightly newer model business notebook that has W7 drivers for those devices.

Please post the hardware ID's for the remaining devices that need drivers.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

bwindows 7 lists them under unknown devices.

1. code 28  location on PCI bus.

2.code 28 location on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Systen.

this is all i can get

thanks
