Hi,

Since recently i can't charge my laptop anymore. I can plug it in and work on it but the moment i unplug it, it shuts down. It says it is charging but stays at 0%. when i try turning it on again, when I inplug the charger i have to wait about 3 seconds before it actually starts up again. I have tried unistalling the microsoft ACPI- Compliant Control Method Battery. I even went to a laptop repair shop and they didn't know the cause of this problem. A fix would be appreciated.

extra: Bought my laptop in Toronto but living in belgium so I am always using an adaptor

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with charging. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😉

I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue.

hi thankyou for the quick reply,

I went through most of the steps described and found out that the problem lies with the battery.

This is the response I get from the battery check.

What should I do next?

The laptop is still under warranty and I haven't done something crazy with it that would kill the battery this quickly.

kind regards

It looks like you were interacting with Barachiel, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.

I see that the Battery check failed with the Failure ID. This is a Hardware issue with the Battery and it needs to be replaced
