can someone please help? it has been long and i have waited.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner ... here are my responses:

2. Reformatting does NOT reduce the life of the hard drive, as all it does is overwrite the partition boot record and it does not actually overwrite the contents of the files on the drive.

The MS MCT that linked you to Win10 v1809 has been reset to link to Win10 v1803 -- but you have to download the entire ISO file (4GB or so), you can't download just the changes.

No of no way to get these files outof SoftwareDistribution as that is organized by individual Windows Update and the folders have cryptic names.

3. Windows Update only supplies drivers with basic functionality.  Drivers supplied by the manufacturers and OEM often have much more functionality.

Laptops that come with different hardware options generally include ALL the drivers on the HP product page.  You only need to download the ones that apply to your specific model -- but the page does not say which those are, and you have to examine your PC's hardware to find out what you have.
