@8CG22535QB, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're facing an issue with the touchpad not working on your HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC 14-dy0000 (45W97AV) running Windows 11.

Please try these steps,
1. Try Windows Update for Generic Drivers

Sometimes, Microsoft provides compatible drivers via Windows Update:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates
  • Look under Driver Updates and install any available touchpad-related drivers.

2. Use Device Manager to Install a Generic Driver

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager
  • Expand Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices
  • Right-click on the touchpad device (if visible) and select Update driver
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers

4. Roll Back or Reinstall via Device Manager

If the touchpad was working before:

  • In Device Manager, right-click the touchpad device
  • Go to Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver (if available)
  • Or uninstall the device and restart your PC to let Windows reinstall it

Download and Install HP Support Assistant

Go to the official HP Support Assistant page:

  1. Click Download HP Support Assistant HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
  2. Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions
  3. After installation, open HP Support Assistant from the Start menu
  4. It will automatically detect your HP device model and system configuration
  5. On the main screen, click on your device name
  6. Click Updates tab
  7. Click Check for updates and messages
  8. HP Support Assistant will scan for the latest drivers and firmware updates
  9. If a Touchpad Driver (e.g., Synaptics or ELAN) is listed, check the box next to it
  10. Click Download and Install
  11. Restart your PC after installation

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
