@8CG22535QB, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're facing an issue with the touchpad not working on your HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC 14-dy0000 (45W97AV) running Windows 11.
Please try these steps,
1. Try Windows Update for Generic Drivers
Sometimes, Microsoft provides compatible drivers via Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates
- Look under Driver Updates and install any available touchpad-related drivers.
2. Use Device Manager to Install a Generic Driver
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager
- Expand Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices
- Right-click on the touchpad device (if visible) and select Update driver
- Choose Search automatically for drivers
4. Roll Back or Reinstall via Device Manager
If the touchpad was working before:
- In Device Manager, right-click the touchpad device
- Go to Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver (if available)
- Or uninstall the device and restart your PC to let Windows reinstall it
Download and Install HP Support Assistant
Go to the official HP Support Assistant page:
- Click Download HP Support Assistant HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions
- After installation, open HP Support Assistant from the Start menu
- It will automatically detect your HP device model and system configuration
- On the main screen, click on your device name
- Click Updates tab
- Click Check for updates and messages
- HP Support Assistant will scan for the latest drivers and firmware updates
- If a Touchpad Driver (e.g., Synaptics or ELAN) is listed, check the box next to it
- Click Download and Install
- Restart your PC after installation
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
