Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the fan is making a loud noise.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
As you have mentioned that it is a brand new computer, there may be many updates running in the background, and which may be causing the fan to kick in. I recommend you make sure you install all the Windows updates and also, update the BIOS and the graphics card from the below link and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hello The-Fossette,
Thanks for your reply.
I think I have everything updated.
I dont hear the fan at all now, I hope this is good...
The laptop does get warm at the back and below afer some time using it for work or watching a film and I dont hear the fan. Is that OK? Should it kick in when it gets warm?
Can you please confirm all this? I am still doubting to return it or not.
Thanks in advance
Nuria

The fan will kick in automatically when the laptop reaches a certain temperature. I recommend you test the computer for another day or two and I am positive that everything will work fine.
