Hello @ibkee2u2 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

When your HP Stream 14 is not booting into Windows, there are several steps you can take to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Power Cycle the Device:

    • Turn off the HP Stream 14 completely and disconnect any external devices such as USB drives, printers, etc.
    • Remove the power adapter.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
    • Reconnect the power adapter and try turning on the device again.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • For laptops with removable batteries, you can remove the battery, repeat the steps for a power cycle, and then reinsert the battery.
    • For devices with a built-in battery, just follow the power cycle steps.
  3. Check for Beep Codes or LED Error Messages:

    • When you try to power on the laptop, listen for any beep codes or LED sequences that might indicate a specific hardware issue. Refer to the user manual or HP support site for code definitions.
  4. Boot into Recovery Mode:

    • As you power on the laptop, continuously press the F11 key until you see the "Windows is loading files..." message.
    • This should bring you to the HP Recovery Manager. You can try running a recovery if you have a backup.
  5. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI:

    • You can start the hardware diagnostics by pressing ESC as soon as the laptop is powered on, then pressing F2.
    • Use the diagnostics to check for hardware issues.
  6. Check BIOS Settings:

    • While turning on the laptop, press the ESC key to access the Startup Menu.
    • Then press F10 to enter the BIOS setup, and make sure the boot order is set correctly, with the primary boot device as the internal hard drive.
  7. Check for Software or Driver Issues:

    • If you can access Safe Mode, try uninstalling any recent software or drivers that might have caused the issue.
  8. Perform a System Recovery:

    • If you have recovery media or if the HP Stream has a recovery partition, consider doing a system recovery that might restore Windows to a working condition.
  9. Contact HP Support:

    • If the laptop is still under warranty or if you're unable to resolve the issue, contacting HP support for further assistance or repair might be necessary.
