@Bruno_Pinto_, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the power button!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP 15-fd1010pn laptop's power button is not working and the device does not turn off, try these troubleshooting steps:

Force Shutdown (Hard Reset)

Since the power button is unresponsive, try forcing a shutdown:

  • Method 1: Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to force a shutdown.
  • Method 2 (if the button is completely unresponsive): Disconnect the charger, then remove the battery (if it’s removable). Wait for a few minutes, then reconnect the battery and try turning it on.

Check for Stuck Power Button

  • If the power button feels stuck, try gently pressing it multiple times or cleaning around it with compressed air.
  • If the button is physically damaged, it may need a hardware repair.

Check for BIOS Update

Sometimes, power button issues can be related to the BIOS:

  • Go to HP Support and check if there's a BIOS update for your model.
  • Follow the instructions to update the BIOS safely.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
