Yesterday I was doing research on HP and seeing as my laptop is not under warranty anymore, there would be a fee to speak to somebody. It was I think $60 some dollars, that's a lot just to speak to a rep via phone

Thank you for the quick response,
The number to contact HP is Toll-Free and only when you get to an agent is when he/she would ask you to pay for Troubleshooting the issue,
Considering we've already troubleshot, you don't have to pay for it.
Instead, just tell them that you are calling to get information on how much it would cost to get the charger port replaced and they should be able to help you out 🙂
let me know how that goes!

Re: " The area where it plugs into the laptop is very loose. If I position the cord a certain way it connects. Has anybody had this issue?"
Yes. My HP Notebook LAPTOP-P8J2VGJ0 power tip was faulty when purchased 1 year ago. The Office Depot computer technician made adjustments to the tip to make it insert but it remains loose.
I have a TARGUS POWER ADAPTER. HP Part No: 8540554-002
What no..size replacement tip do I need?
