i have pavilion g4-1303AU laptop with with windows 7(457 gb hard disk ,7.60 gb recovery)

when i am shrinking the c drive it is shrinked but when i m trying to allocate the unallocated drive then the following error is showing:-

The operation you selected will convert the selected disk to dynamic disk, if you convert the disk to dynamic, you will not be able to start the installed operating systems from any volume on the disk(except the current volume). Are you sure want to continue?

when i m clicking on yes then system is showing following notification:-

dynamic disk is not supported by this OS or server config.Dynamic disk are not supported on clusters.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Your disk is formatted using the MBR method and with that, the maximum number of upper-level partitions is hard set at four -- which you apparently already have because any attempt to add anymore forces the conversion of ALL the partitions to Dynamic Disks.  This is something you do NOT want to do.

Sorry, but that's a hard limit with no workaround for adding any more partitions.

What you CAN do is the following:

1) Copy the contents of the HP_TOOLS partition to your C: volume

2) Remove the HP_TOOLS partition

3) Shrink the C partition to make some room

4) Create a new partition in the unallocated space

Realize that once you do this, the HP diagnostics routines will likely no longer run anymore because you removed the HP_TOOLS partition.
