The OEM SATA hdd in my laptop has died. I installed a new hdd and attempted to install Windows 11. I then received an error message "The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems the operating system can only be installed on GPT disks."
My question is how may I convert my new HDD to GTP format so I can proceed with my installation of Windows 11. I have installed Windows on many PCs and have never encountered this issue before. I'm wondering if this is a problem with HP proprietary BIOS settings?

I have found the solution online. I used the troubleshoot option from the installation disk and used the command prompt diskpart to convert MBR to GPT. I'm now able to install Win11 on the new HDD.
Sorry for the troubles.
