I am trying to change the keyboard from a French setting to an English setting. For example, I canèt use the appostrophe sign in either Word or any on-line search engine. Can anyone suggest a solutionÉ

You probably should have started your own thread in a more appropriate section.
Your question was OS related so I moved it for you.
Use the Windows Alt code for apostrophe.
Alt 39
Hold down the Alt key and typoe in 39. That should give you an apostrophe.
