Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i installed a different operating system on my laptop and wanted to reinstall windows i used the official iso of windows from Microsoft but i didn't get any of the HP software's back such as, Hp support assistance, hp jumpstart and many more. before it included with office and MC afee but there was nothing i tried factory resetting by f11 menu, i tried local as well as cloud recovery but still no hp apps. i know we can install hp support assistance back but not jumpstart. i searched a little and found out about cloud recovery but for my laptop i think it is not supported. can anyone help me out how to get back to how my laptop originally started. and if possible S mode

Hi@bootcamp0P, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The only option to reimage the operating system to factory settings.

  1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. Click Advanced system settings.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. In the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings.
  5. Click to clear the Automatically restart check box.

If you've been using the Recovery Partition (F11) to reinstall the OS, I recommend using the Recovery media instead to wipe out the HDD and create a new partition and fresh OS installation: Click here to obtain one, if you don't have on in your possession.

or HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) Link

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi. I also have this problem, and it appears my recovery partition is also totally deleted. Is there no way of downloading the factor installed OS, I have my serial number of the laptop bought. When I search the HP assistant for auto updates of software the scan does not recognise the Windows OS I have downloaded and directs me to "follow the steps to reset your computer", but surely this will just re install the MS operating system already on the laptop and not the original HP factory OS as bought?

Thanks for any help.

Hi, thanks for you comments.

TBH, I have ended up chasing my tail a bit going down this route! (sorry)

However, a friend has sent me the following weblink which has helped a lot :

HP Cloud Recovery Tool -

I hope this also helps others.
