I purchased an HP Envy 15-k277ca for school last summer (Aug. 12, 2015).
It was Windows 8.1 and then I upgraded to the Windows 10 shortly after (mid-August).
In July, my keyboard stopped working & I sent it into HP service centre for service and warranty work.
I got it back today and my harddrive was reverted to Windows 8.1, either by a factory reset or a format/fresh install.
I would like to get WIndows 10 back but since the free upgrade has since ended & with mutliple pages of info I don't have the patience to locate my answer.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi:
If HP didn't replace the motherboard, you should be able to upgrade back to W10 by keeping your existing files and programs, by running the installation media you create from the link below from the windows desktop, since W10 was previously activated when you upgraded the last time.
You need to make W10 installation media using the media creation tool from the link below.
Or you can clean install W10 by using the media you create if you don't mind losing the files and programs currently on your PC
When you go to install windows 10, you select the 'I don't have a product key' option and Windows 10 will install and automatically activate since it was successfully activated when you upgraded last year.
