Hi @Kizzaa,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

If your HP Notebook 15-da0594sa is running very slowly despite performing a full reset and updating the BIOS, there are a few more troubleshooting steps you can try to improve performance:

1. Check for Resource-Intensive Programs

  • Task Manager: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check which programs are using the most CPU, memory, and disk resources.
  • Disable Unnecessary Startup Programs: In Task Manager, go to the Startup tab and disable programs that are not needed at startup.

2. Run Performance Troubleshooter

  • Windows Performance Troubleshooter:
    1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    2. Select Additional troubleshooters.
    3. Run the Performance troubleshooter.

3. Check for Disk Issues

Check Disk Utility:

  1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator (search for cmd, right-click, and choose Run as administrator).
  2. Type chkdsk /f and press Enter.
  3. Follow the prompts and restart the computer to check for and fix disk errors.

Disk Cleanup:

  1. Search for Disk Cleanup in the Start menu.
  2. Select the drive you want to clean up (usually C:).
  3. Check the boxes for temporary files, system cache, and other files to delete, then click OK.

4. Check for Malware

  • Run a Full System Scan:
    • Use Windows Defender or a third-party antivirus program to perform a full system scan to ensure there is no malware causing the slowdown.

5. Update Drivers

  • Update All Drivers:
    1. Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select Device Manager).
    2. Right-click on devices like graphics cards, network adapters, and others, then select Update driver.
    3. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Kizzaa,

Please find the remaining steps below.

6. Check for System Updates

  • Windows Update:
    1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. Check for updates and install any that are available.

7. Manage Startup and Background Processes

  • Disable Unnecessary Services:
    1. Open System Configuration (type msconfig in the Start menu).
    2. Go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, and then disable non-essential services.

8. Check for Hardware Issues

  • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
    1. Turn off the laptop.
    2. Turn it back on and immediately press F2 to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics.
    3. Run the extensive tests to check for any hardware issues.

9. Optimize Power Settings

  • Adjust Power Plan:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
    2. Select High performance to ensure the laptop is using all available power resources.

10. Consider Upgrading Hardware

  • Upgrade RAM or Storage:
    • If the laptop has low RAM or a slow hard drive, upgrading to more RAM or an SSD (if not already equipped) can significantly improve performance.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there might be a deeper hardware problem or a compatibility issue. In that case, it might be helpful to consult HP support for service options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
