@alexandra00,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Assuming you got a laptop -after all, you posted your issue in the "Notebook OS & Recovery" message board, here are the best ways to fix your slow HP notebook performance during gaming and sharing screen on Discord:

  • Turn off Discord hardware acceleration.
This frees up your graphics processor.
    Go to Discord User Settings.
    Select the Advanced menu option.
    Toggle off Hardware Acceleration.
  • Lower Minecraft video settings.
This reduces stress on your hardware.
    Turn down your render distance.
Change graphics from Fancy to Fast.
Set maximum framerate to 60 FPS.
  • Change power plan to performance.
This makes your laptop run faster.
    Open your Windows Control Panel.
    Select the Power Options section.
    Choose the High Performance plan.
  • Close background browser tabs.
    This frees up system memory.
    Close Chrome or Edge windows.
    Stop active background downloads.
  • Update your graphics drivers.
    This fixes game performance bugs.
    Open the HP Support Assistant.
    Check for new driver updates.
    Install recommended display drivers.

Would you like to narrow down the list? To that end, tell me:

  • Your notebook's model number
  • Your installed RAM amount

I can then provide specific steps for your exact laptop.

Kind Regards,
