Hi,

I lost windows product key that came with my laptop (windows 7 home 32 bit)

the laptop is old ( I bought 10 years ago) but I want to renew it and re install windows again, unfortunatellay, windows product key on the back sticker is unreadable. I couldn't restore windows using the recovery disks therefore I will have to install it from MS Windows website and for that I need the produt key!

can HP help me retrieve it or provide a replacement??

Sorry but no -- you will not be able to download the Win7 file from MS because they want a Retail product key, and your product key is HP OEM.

You can use this utility to retrieve your existing product key -- but that still will not work with MS:  Showkey - Windows 10 Forums
