Hi,

all my USB ports are not operable. Any device whether is memory stick or smartphone can't connect through any of the 3 USB ports.

Device manager is indicating "unknown device" and "no driver".

I have already tried:

- easy fixes like: connect / disconnect / restart laptop and or device.

- uninstall the usb root hub in Device Manager.

- using of HP assistant and HP Diagnostic tool

- updating all drivers manually from Device Manager

- restore "all defaults in BIOS"

- recovery to a previous point (unfortunately I am not sure when actually appeared this issue);

I haven't tried "Bios update" and restore to "factory state" since first one is updated and second solution will delete my files.

Thank you for any help

I have reinstalled Windows 10.

All USB ports are working fine.

I don't see any problem so far.

From Recovery and Reset Pc, I have used the option of keeping the old files.

Sorry I just found the KB update released by Microsoft on March 5 that fixes the usb issue:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4090913/march5-2018kb4090913osbuild16299-251

Keep it in mind for after Windows updates again-and possibly breaks it.
