Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The system did not start. Checking with HP PC Hardware Diagnostic UEFI gave this error code: PSG27A-000AR2-MFPW3G-60RM03. What does this mean? I understand that this is a problem with the HDD, but what exactly is wrong with it?

Hi:

 

The failure code does not provide any additional info than what you already know. 

 

It expends most of its energy providing the serial number of your PC, which I have removed from the report it generates.

Failure ID Tag Checksum HP Serial Number Test Date Failure Code Device Includes Error Message
PSG27A-000AR2-MFPW3G-60RM03OK000000000010/17/21303StorageFloppy Drive, Hard Drive, Memory Drive, Optical Drive, SCSI, Tape DriveHard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure

 

The solution to the problem is to replace the hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

 

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion Notebook PC

 

You may want to consider replacing the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).
