HP ENVY x360 - 13t-y000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

....PC Health Check stated requirements all exist?

         (paperwork actually states it's 13t-y0XX)

* "W10 v 2004 or later"   (current version is "21H2  x64 (KB5015807)"

* "CPU 1GHz or faster w/2 or more cores"  ("2.7 w/boost>3.5GHz + 2core/4thread")

* "RAM 4gb"  ("16gb - 4x4")

* "Storage 64gb"  ("1-tb PCle NVMe M.2 SSD supporting Triple Level Cell" (huh?)

* "GPU compatible w/DirectX12 / WDDM 2.0 Driver"  ("DX12" 👍- no clue what WDDM means)

* "TPM version 2.0"  (again, huh?)  no idea how/where to find this in settings, etc

* "System Firmware-UEFI, SecureBoot capable"  (uhhhh, see above )

* "Display 720 HD/8 bits color/at least 9" diagonal"  ("13.3 QHD+" - bits? beats me)

AND this model and cpu ARE listed in W11 compatible charts, so....???  Any advice??

Hi:

According to the Maintenance and Service Guide for the model series, the only processor offered was the Intel® Core™ i7-7500U.

HP ENVY x360 Convertible PC (model number 13-y0XX) Maintenance and Service GuideIMPORTANT! This docu...

That processor is not supported by Microsoft for the upgrade to W11.

The cutoff was at the Intel 8th gen core processors and newer.

In order to install W11 on your notebook, you would have to use one of the several W11 hardware check bypass methods to upgrade to W11.

I found this method to be the easiest way to do that.

Before upgrading to W11, I recommend that you make a system image of your current W10 installation prior to updating to W11, so you can easily reinstall W10 in the future.  I used the free Macrium Reflect software to do that, under the Backup at Home section.

Along with the system image, make sure you create the bootable DVD or USB rescue drive you boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.
