I bought a new HP Pavilion S003TU.When I try to load windows 7 from a bootable usb drive, windows install gives me an error of "Load drivers for cd/dvd".
I downloaded drivers from HP site onto a second usb drive and plugged onto the new laptop. Problem is when I browse for loading the appropriate driver....the second usb drive is not shown/detectable. So, I cannot select the driver and get rid of the driver error and hence cannot continue with windows install.

Hi:
First make sure you have enabled legacy mode and disabled secure boot in the BIOS.
W7 is not compatible with secure boot.
Use this tool to put the USB drivers into your W7 installation flash drive.
There is a readme link with instructions for using the tool on the webpage.

Hi:
Yes, you are probably missing drivers...
Do you have the 11-s003tu or the 15-s003tu model notebook?
It will make a difference for some drivers like the wireless.
A cuuple drivers I can give you right now would be the USB3 driver and chipset driver, which should work on either model.
The tool I posted yesterday only allows you to get W7 installed, but I guess it doesn't install the driver in the device manager.
First install the Intel Chipset driver and restart the PC. The 2nd file down on the left is the auto install file.
Here is the link to the USB 3 driver. Download, unzip and run the setup.exe file from the link below.

Thanks for your response. I downloaded the drivers you've given me. But the problem is how to install them?
Win 7 is loaded now and desktop comes up, but it does not recognize any usb disk...not even the bootable usb disk.
by the way, I have 11-s003tu.

You're very welcome.
According to the specs, your notebook has one USB2 port, and that port should be working just fine to read a USB flash drive.
If for some reason it isn't, unfortunately, I would have no idea how you are going to install the drivers without removing the hard drive, plugging the hard drive into a USB/SATA adapter cable, and copying the drivers to a folder on the hard drive you removed.
BTW, the parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 combination WLAN adapter, so here are the W7 drivers for that card...
This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Thanks again for your response.
I downloaded the additional drivers you provided in your last reply, but again no use.....usb drive is not detected.
Re-installed windows 7...before installation, using the load driver option during windows install page , installed all the drivers you provided me till now and then installed fresh windows, but no luck.windows is installed but it doesnt detect any usb device/optical mouse etc.
yes you are right...the left usb is usb2.0,but its not detecting any usb, not even the optical mouse.
the hard drive removal part you mentioned.. I'm not a very technical person and havent done it anytime, so just trying to avoid it.
problem is ..even the wifi or bluetooth is also not working,,,,,,so cant transfer the drivers via that too.
Although I checked the device manager and in usb controller it shows no driver.
the thirsty has reached the well and the well has water too....but no bucket to fetch water 🙂
the one I'm typing from right now is hp mini laptop (again from hp) . I used the same process to install win7 and it was so easily done, not sure what the problem is with the new one.
do you think the usb 2 & 3 ports could be faulty...manufacturing defect ? any idea if it is covered under warranty ?
Now, my 2 questions -
1> Is there any other idea to get the drivers in the system or to get the new laptop read the usb device.
2> I read somewhere that usb3 driver might cause problem for usb 2 port. If you pls go back to your 1st reply....

We created win bootable drive using usb3 utility(as it shows in the name)..do you think this might be creating any problem ? if I go back creating win bootabe drive using my normal way i was doing....using usb2 drivers.....it was giving me cd/dvd driver load issue and not allowing me to start with win install......is there any other way to get rid/skip the cd/dvd driver load issue during win installation...so that I can use my normal win bootable drive (probably usb2) and try again.
OR
now that win has been installed, can I try to remove the usb3 driver and see if it now detects external things ?
Please dont mind, this is just a wild thought from a novice.

You're very welcome.
Sorry that the usb 2 port doesn't work either. I wouldn't know why it doesn't work. I think it is a driver issue. Probably needs the Intel chipset installation utility driver.
Those notebooks probably require some bravery to take apart to get to the hard drive, but here is the link to the service manual if you want to give it a try.
See chapter 5, starting on page 34.

That would be the only way I know of to get the drivers on there.
Your SD card reader doesn't work (shows as a PCI Device in the Device Manager), the USB Controllers don't work, and the wireless and bluetooth don't work.
