Microsoft Windows 11

Good day,

I purchased a laptop this year, and despite the fact of it being a new laptop, only a couple months old, I'm getting a prompt that my Windows license will expire soon. When I do check the activation screen, it shows that Windows is activated, but I still get that prompt. How do I fix this?

Hi @Gdefreitas

Welcome to the HP Support Community. We are here to help you with it.

Please note that if your notebook is free DOS then the HP dealer had installed Windows 10 and activated it with his organization service but now his license is about to expire that's the reason you are getting this error.

If your notebook isn't free DOS and comes with preinstalled windows 10 then please make sure you don't change the edition of Windows.

If you know which edition of windows is preinstalled with your notebook you can download it from Microsoft.com

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Well it's a new laptop, only a couple months old, came installed with Windows 11, it was purchased from Walmart.

So, how do I go about getting rid of the license expire prompt?
