I have Windows 10.0 Version 1607 OS Build 14393.1770. I have been trying to upgrade to a more current Windows 10 version. I receive error code "0xc1900208 – HP Pavillion Notebook BIOS needs to be upgraded before you can upgrade Windows 10. Uninstall this app now because it is not compatible with Windows 10."
I already have Windows 10 and need to move to a newer version. What do I need to do?
Thanks, Richard

Hi ballours,
Please try this:
HP Notebook System BIOS Update (AMD Processors)
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80001-80500/sp80252.exe
This is the latest version despite it being 1 year old.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi ballours,
Not really sure about the error but since it is requesting for a newer BIOS, I can recommend you one.
However, a specific model/product number would be appreciated. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Forum)
Information on how to find a laptop's model/product number is detailed in this HP document.
Awaiting your response,

I had updated the BIOS and then found there were some HP updates that I had not installed. Wasn't sure if they would have any impact on the v1709 upgrade, but went ahead and did them too. Finally the upgrade to v1709 took. Hurray. Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Richard
