Hello!
I need your help!
So, I have an HP Pavilion G6 2210AU laptop, I decided to downgrade the OS from Windows 10 to Windows 7. It came out with Windows 8.
Through updates, I was able to make all the drivers work except for the 2 USB ports on the left side.
When I check Device Manager, I see 2 items with yellow alert mark (!)
> Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&SUBSYS_1849103C&REV_03
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&SUBSYS_1849103C
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&CC_0C03
> Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&SUBSYS_1849103C&REV_03
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&SUBSYS_1849103C
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&CC_0C03
There is one down below that has sub tabs, Universal Serial Bus Controller, that works fine, and this is the USB port on the right side of my laptop.
I tried everything, spent hours last night finding solutions online and in this forum too. But I've run out of luck.
Here's to summarize what I have done so far:
> I downloaded AMD Driver updater to update the chipset
> I manually installed an AMD USB 3 Controller driver to this particular hardware, it did install BUT there's UNRECOGNIZED DEVICEs that have a yellow mark.
> Updated it the easy way through DEVICE MANAGER but WINDOWS cannot find a driver.
It worked just fine with Windows 10, though the USBs are still working somehow. They were able to power up my external laptop cooling fans.
Please help me!

Hi, @JedP :
Download and install the AMD Chipset drivers and restart the PC.
You want the first file listed on the webpage...
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy4&os=Windows%207%20-%2064
Now if you have already tried the above driver and it didn't work, then download and install both of these drivers and restart the PC...
This package contains the AMD USB 3.0 driver. This package is available on supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63988.exe
This package provides the AMD USB Filter Driver, a USB upper-class filter driver for the AMD chipsets. The AMD USB Filter Driver provides power management and performance optimizations for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
